Welder/Fabricator/Flame Cutter
Position Overview
This role involves assembling, repairing, and fabricating metal components—primarily Aluminum and Steel—using high-heat welding techniques. It is essential in sectors such as construction, manufacturing, and marine industries, where precision and safety are critical.
Key Responsibilities
• Weld Aluminum structures including stairs, railings, platforms, and other custom fabrications.
• Work independently, taking accurate field measurements and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Perform shop layouts, fabrication, and installation as per specifications.
• Prepare materials by cleaning surfaces and preheating when necessary.
• Use MIG, TIG, Stick, and plasma arc welding techniques.
• Align and clamp components using callipers, rulers, and braces; weld in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead).
• Operate and maintain welding equipment, grinders, saws, and torches.
• Inspect welds for flaws and ensure structural integrity.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace.
Work Conditions
• Environments include residential, commercial, marine, and industrial sites such as construction & power plants.
• Exposure to high heat, noise, fumes, vapours, bright welding arcs, dust, and metal particles.
• Physical demands include prolonged standing, bending, and lifting heavy materials.
